A luxury phone never felt so good. Nothing jazzy or blingy about this baby ; The Mobiado Luminoso is no goof-up when it comes to performance either. Unlike its pricey cousins which are only good at looking great, the Mobiado Luminoso gives a stunning performance in the work arena as well. Features include a 'Nokia interface, 2-megapixel camera, microSD slot, MP3 player and Bluetooth.'Mobiado has always tried to fit the gap between exclusively designer phones and feature packed handsets and with the Luminoso, it seems to have gotten good at doing precisely that.

The Mobiado Luminoso utilizes a dual illumination technique that lights the keypad area from beneath and from above through the buttons. Creating an unique looking mobile phone as well as maximizing the illumination of the keypad.

Luminoso combines aluminum, sapphire crystal, and stainless steel to create new standard in luxury. The aluminum frame is created from aircraft aluminum to build a strong/stiff yet light body, it is filtered glass bead blasted, and then hard anodized coated to produce a rock hard ceramic coating with twice the thickness of traditional anodizing for the toughest of uses. The buttons are sapphire crystal and stainless steel, the camera window is sapphire crystal, and the front screen is coated with DiamondShield, the most advanced coating available for polymer substrates with diamond like properties. A daring design, combining luxury and technology in perfect harmony.

Mobiado latest phone, Luminoso has proved that not all luxury phones are decorated with blings and no features. Slated to go on sale from January 15, it will be the first 3G luxury phone. The USP of the phone lies in its illumination technique, thus its name Luminoso. The phone is crafted with materials like aluminum, sapphire and stainless steel. The body is made from aluminum used in aircrafts making it sturdy and lightweight. The body is then filtered glass bead blasted, hard anodized coated to produce a rock hard ceramic coating with twice the thickness of traditional anodizing. This process makes the body more resistant to water and dust. Stainless steel and sapphire are used in conjunction to make the buttons, sapphire for the camera window and a special coating called as the DiamondShield for the screen.

The Mobiado Luminoso is unlocked and will work with any GSM network operator. It has WCDMA 2100 and tri-band GSM coverage on up to five continents (GSM/EDGE 900/1800/1900). It is equipped with a large QVGA display, 2 megapixel camera and video camera, supports microSD cards up to 2GB, surround sound through stereo speakers, push to talk over cellular, Bluetooth technology, infrared, speaker phone, and a music player that supports MP3, MP4, eAAC+ and AAC music files

We have seen several luxury phones before, the Luxury Mago Phone, the Nokia Sirocco Diamond, the Vertu Ascent. This time Mobiado shows us its latest luxury phone, the Luminoso, a phone supports WCDMA 2100 and tri-band GSM network.

Samsung launched the first 5-megapixel camera phone in 2004, and the first 7- and 8-megapixel camera phones in 2005, so it's no surprise the Korean electronics giant has launched the world's first 10-megapixel camera phone at CeBIT 2006. Like its predecessors, the SCH-B600 looks like a regular handset from the front, but when you activate the camera application, a large lens extends from the back. You won't want to make calls at this point, because you'll feel like an idiot with the lens sticking out of your ear, but if you turn the phone horizontally and frame up a shot, passers-by won't realise you're using a phone -- it looks just like a compact camera

Samsung hasn't just crammed in lots of pixels. You also get autofocus, a 3x optical zoom and a flash, so you can take candid close-ups and night shots as well as the usual mugshots in front of famous landmarks. You can admire your photos on the bright, 240x320-pixel screen and save them in the phone's internal memory, or on to MMCmicro memory cards. Other features include Bluetooth and MP3 playback.

On the downside, once you get over having more megapixels than anyone else, you're stuck with a big, ugly phone that transforms into a big, ugly camera. There's also the problem of having to move to Korea, because the B600 won't work on UK networks. We don't expect to see a UK version, but some of the technology might trickle down into Samsung's UK phones. It's also a milestone that demonstrates Samsung's commitment to pushing at the limits of technology. -ML

Samsung also introduced the Samsung SGH-i310 smart phone. Running Windows Mobile 5, it has an 8GB hard drive--still a rarity on a cell phone. Other features include a 2-meagixel camera, a digital music player, stereo speakers, and Bluetooth. And I know what you're asking next: Will we see those in the United States anytime soon?
